Daily Tasks of a Locksmith

Daily Locksmith Tasks

A locksmith is anyone who has got all the skills needed to install, maintain, secure, fix, and opens locks on safes, doors and other places where there are locks. This is contrary to the perception of many people that locksmiths just cut keys even though key cutting is part of what a locksmith has to do. In the last year, it has been claimed that a £20 skeleton key is behind thousands of vehicle and tool thefts across the UK. Earlier this month, it has been revealed that Amazon will be releasing its first security camera. At this moment, there is a number of home CCTV systems that work with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant. If Amazon’s own device doesn’t complement its Echo system, we will be very surprised indeed.

Details of the product have already been leaked on the AFTVnews website. From their picture, it looks very promising. Instead of the hemispherical look of typical home CCTV systems, the Amazon CCTV camera looks like a 1950s radio mike. Despite looking like something that Pete Murray would have used on Radio Luxembourg, there are two built-in mics at the top and mics on each corner. It has a pivoting base.

Once we find out about its release date and prices, we shall keep you informed. This may be a future post on our blog.

“Ask for a song and we’ll play it for you/England, Wales and Scotland too…” Image by Tomertu (via Shutterstock).

This post has been inspired by our previous one on missing house keys, and why we misplace the things. Shortly after creating this post, an obscure rock ‘n’ roll song sprung to mind:

The tune in question is She Can’t Find Her Keys by Paul Petersen from 1962. This was a US one hit wonder and one that didn’t register in the UK’s Hit Parade. In the song, she has a bag that would put Mary Poppins’ to shame. Yet she couldn’t find her keys.

In our previous blog post, we looked at how a selection of lock picking kits on Amazon shocked the Daily Mail. This time, the Sunday Mirror (13 November 2016 edition) shared a similar concern, over car lockout kits. According to the Sunday newspaper, some of the state-of-the-art car lockout kits can fetch up to £600 and resemble regular car keys.
